I wanted to give everyone a heads up that we will have a large event tomorrow focused on the importance of nutrition and literacy.
Youth and families are invited to attend Lunch and Learn at the Topeka and Shawnee County Public Library (1515 SW 10th Ave, Topeka) from 11 to 1 p.m. on Friday, July 6. All youth 18 and under can eat lunch, pick up comics and books and even meet a live cow—and it’s all free!
There will be several booths in the Rotunda and Marvin Auditorium 101A
Event co-sponsors include Huscarl Hobbies and Games, the Shawnee County Campaign for Grade-Level Reading, Topeka and Shawnee County Public Library, Kansas Appleseed, Topeka Public Schools, United Way of Greater Topeka, Harvesters-The Community Food Network, Kansas Children’s Discovery Center, Shawnee County Parks and Recreation, and Southwest Dairy Farmers.
