What is Communico?
It’s a web-based platform that will replace EMS, Program Book, Team Room reservations, and the Janus digital displays as well as add a new mobile app! Whew, that’s a lot!
This system is super easy for booking meetings and events and we think you’ll like it.
Learning Opportunities
In January, we’ll have classes to get familiar with the new system. Our in-house experts will offer two different classes and registration is required.
While you wait for your training session(s), get a head start by visiting Communico College. It has wonderfully short training videos and lessons, covering how to create a new event, choosing an event location, date and rooms and event details. It also covers registration for your event or class and you can learn how to create a wait-list.

Migration Details
We’ll be migrating reservation, program and meeting information from three systems – EMS, Program Book, & Team Rooms. Not everything will move into the new system. Don’t worry – we will cover those changes (and what you need to do) during training.
- Only booking and program data through 2020 will be added to the new system.
- EMS Data: only bookings that are confirmed and tentative will be added to the new system.
Plan to re-enter your reservations in 2021 or 2022! - Program Book data: only published events will be added to the new system.
Plan to re-enter all of your outreach or internal events (events entered to capture attendance only). - Bookings and Events will be added to the system with a draft status.
- We’ve updated and simplified the available resources quite a bit between EMS and Communico.
>Initially, resources booked in EMS will not be encumbered in the new system.
>Some resources, like banners and tents, will be bookable through LibCal
