Beanstack: A New Summer Reading Tracker

We’re using a new system to manage our summer reading tracker this year! It’s got a nice interface for both customers and staff, as well as a mobile app. To prepare for summer and the new system, we’re going to do a Beanstack Training Challenge this spring so we can get used to Beanstack before summer begins. More details on that will come later.

Learning Opportunities

In late March, we’ll have classes to get familiar with the new system. In this training we’ll cover orientation and terminology, basic tasks, and answer any questions.

Then in April, we’re going to do a staff challenge in Beanstack! It’s geared to help us learn the ins’ and outs’ of Beanstack hands-on! To make it a little fun, people who complete the challenge get a prize and entered into a drawing for a Iron Rail gift certificate!

Setup your account

Visit the site and register with your work email.  While we onboard staff in the month of March, a library card is required during registration. For now, just register yourself.  We’ll cover adding readers to your account in class.

The mobile app is pretty sweet. Beanstack calls it a “Fitbit for Reading”  that lets readers time reading sessions, log books by scanning the ISBN, keep a log, track daily stats, and achieve streaks for reading multiple days in a row!
