Can staff win the prizes if they sign up for summer reading? No. A direct employee is not eligible for prizes, but can still participate. Kids of direct employees can fully participate and win prizes.

Where are more infant prizes?  They are located in the outer office.  Luanne maintains this inventory.

Where are more trackers?  They are located in the outer office.

Is there a Spanish version of the trackers? Yes, there is a spanish version of the kids tracker only. Download as needed: PDF Reading Tracker 2017-kids(S)

Where are more books? Luanne distributes prizes to the service point in YS.  BKM staff self-serve.  Overstock is stored in the outer office. Inventory is managed by Luanne and Becca.

Where are more Gage Bowl vouchers?  Kyler distributes prizes accordingly to service points YS, BKM, and PS. Prize overstock is stored in the YS workroom where we can more easily oversee the inventory. If staff run out or low, they can notify Kyler to bring them more OR they can self-serve. Please send an email to Kyler letting him know what was taken for inventory purposes.

What are book vouchers and what do I do if I receive one from a customer?
When a kid or teen is awarded a book voucher (which may be the case with groups and/or Bookmobile customers), we mark them as prize received in Read².  The voucher is the prize in those cases.  When they redeem their voucher for their actual book, we should take said voucher from them, casually tear it into two pieces and toss it into the trash.  It is a trade transaction.  Nothing needs to be done in the Read² system for that.
Your attention to this will help us manage both our prize inventory and the Read² system.
You may have a few kids or parents say that they lost their voucher(s).  Whether you give those individuals a book(s) is a judgement call to be made by you at the point of transaction.

Where are more blank certificates available? They are located in the outer office.

How do groups sign up and get prizes?

  • Option 1:  The entire groups is treated as one group under the group leader name.  The group leader manages the experience. That person lets us know about the group’s progress, and we give them the coupons, book vouchers, certificates and such for distribution.  The grand prize is not available to these participants as they are not tracked as individuals.  There is no way for us to identify or contact them as such.
  • Option 2:  Groups or families can opt to add kid names to a registered adult account.  When done this way, each kid can be tracked as an individual.  Prizes are the same as for the Kid program in this option.  Since they are tracked individually they are eligible for the grand prize drawings.
