10th St. Bookies–June Reading Conversation

The 10th St. Bookies are hosting another reading conversation for library staff on Thursday, June 27, from 4:00-6:00 pm in the Lower Level Conference Room. The theme will be: A book you think everyone should read this summer. Focus on the sell, the pitch for this book as a great summer read.

We’ll leave the door open, and the conversation is open house style, come when you can, stay as long as you want, or just long enough to share your pitch.

What’s in it for you? Talking books on the clock! Seriously, Reading conversations are a fun way to connect with colleagues over books, and you’ll also pick up some good pitches to help you connect readers with new books. I love hearing the way that others speak to what it is that appeals to them about a certain book, too–they’re modeling how you can speak to other readers who might share their tastes or appeal factors.

If you aren’t sold yet, there will also be snacks!

We’ll see you June 27.
