Construction Update – July 11, 2017

Construction crews are currently working on adding trim and painting the walls in the new collaborative workspaces.  One note about the paint; the lighter yellow color seen on the outside of some of the rooms is simply a primer.  The outside walls will be painted the same blue as the rest of the reference room.   The paint on the inside of the rooms is the final color, although they may still need another coat of paint.  Next week they plan to begin installing the ceiling grids in the rooms.

On Thursday, July 13, they will begin leveling the floors.  To do this they will need to run some tubing from the collaborative workspaces all the way to the lower level.  They will begin this work at 6 am that morning and hope to have it completed by 9 am so they are not in the way once customers arrive.  However, the work that morning may extend a little past 9.  If that is the case they will put signs and / or caution tape around anything that may be in the public space.  They hope to avoid this though, or at least keep it to a minimum.

The work on the pass through to the cafe should begin in about 2-3 weeks.  They are still waiting for a kitchen door to arrive before they get started.  Once we have an official start date we’ll let everyone know.
