Entry Plaza Update

The first stage of the the entry plaza project is complete and the west doors at the front of the library have been reopened.  The next phase of the project will be the center portion of the entryway, including both sets of sliding doors at the front of the library.

Before the center area is restricted and construction begins we will be installing automatic door openers on the west and east sets of doors.  This will allow customers who have difficulty opening the doors to push a button and the door will open automatically.  Right now the plan is to install an opener on the door furthest from the sliding doors on both the east and west side.  The openers are scheduled to be installed starting Monday 2/13.  It should only take a couple of days to get them installed.  The following week, on Monday 2/20 we should see construction begin on the middle portion of the entryway.  Construction on the middle section should last approximately 6 weeks.

One note about the west section that has been opened up; work on this section is not totally complete.  The lighting on top of the bollards, masonry on the planters, bike rakes, and additional seating will be completed at a later date.  This finishing type of work will all be done together once all three sections have new concrete and planters in place.
