Goodbye Data Axle, Hello AtoZ Databases!

Many of us may not realize it, but in the fall of 2020, Reference USA underwent a name change to Data Axle, but kept it still available as “Reference USA” on many aspects: their web address, parts of their website, and even some of their promotional materials.
Earlier this year, a group of us had the opportunity to demo a new database and after much consideration, feedback, testing and conversation, we are excited to announce that as of today, AtoZ Databases is live and accessible to us and our community!

So what does this mean?

This means that we are sunsetting our access to Data Axle/Reference USA. Our access to this product will become unavailable at the end of December 2021.

This new database will replace and replicate many of the features that were a part of Data Axle, but with some great additions.

First, it is a quicker search tool. There’s no need to click in multiple times to get to the area you want. If you’re in Call Center and needing to look up a person’s phone number, it’s right there on the landing page.

Secondly, it makes finding out answers very easy and organized. If you look up a business, all of the information for that business is on one page. It also helps job searchers by pulling search results from Indeed, a great job searching tool.

Finally, a lot of products/services we would have had to pay for as individual items with Data Axle/Reference USA, we get under one umbrella with AtoZ. You may not have realized it, but each time someone searched for say, new addresses or new movers-we had to pay additionally for those on top of the main product. With AtoZ, we get to save some money!

Overall: Data Axle/Reference USA isn’t vanishing, yet. We are wanting to get the word out to staff as quickly as possible so that everyone has time to play with it and understand it. I’m happy to work with staff and customers on navigating AtoZ. If there are back-end, technical issues with it, please reach out to Scarlett.

This decision wasn’t made lightly or without lots of conversation and research. As with anything new, it will take time for us and our customers to get used to the switch. Please be patient with yourselves and our community.
