Resurface DVD’s and CD’s. Prepare and transfer materials between Library buildings and locations throughout Shawnee County. Safely operate Library vehicles such as trucks and vans. Check shelves for materials on lists. Assist with inventory, maintenance and delivery of Central Supply materials. Serve on committees as assigned.

The position requires a High School diploma or equivalent; valid Kansas Driver’s license with insurable driving record. Applicants must have competent computer skills in Microsoft Office Suite software and internet search techniques; strong written and oral communication skills; maintain positive work atmosphere by acting and communicating in a manner so that you get along with and work cooperatively with patrons, volunteers, community partners, colleagues and supervisors; excellent interpersonal skills and strong service orientation with a positive attitude; the ability to work independently, be flexible and adapt to a fast-paced work environment; and good planning, analytical and organizational skills

This position operates in public and nonpublic areas. It requires a working knowledge of library technology such as computers, facsimile, copiers and audio/visual equipment. The work areas may contain book dust, molds, mildew and insects. This position requires bending, lifting/carrying up to 50 pounds, pushing/pulling materials requiring up to 25 pounds of force, reaching, climbing stairs, talking on the telephone, driving a motor vehicle, and stationary work at a computer terminal. This position exists in a shared office environment with a need for cooperative interaction in many different circumstances. Prompt arrival and efficient, dependable maintenance of scheduled hours is a necessity. Evening and weekend hours may be required.

Pay range begins at $9.53 per hour. In addition, the library offers excellent benefits, including BCBS health & dental insurance, retirement through KPERS, a cafeteria plan, vacation and sick leave.
