Construction Water Leak Update

*** I gave a little more of an update as of 12/3 2:00 pm in the response below****

I wanted to give you an update regarding the water leak yesterday.

The Cafe will continue to be closed today Friday.  We are reviewing the damage with the construction company and determining the next steps.  We are working on the timeline for having the Cafe open again.  We will let you know as soon as we know.

Several ceiling tiles are being replaced in the bathrooms by the Auditorium and should be operational.

The Booktique experienced some water damage but not too much to keep it from opening today.

As we learn more, we will share more information. I want to thank everyone for their quick thinking and help with the water leak response  especially from Maintenance and Security.

And thank you to everyone who helped to calmly inform our customers that we were closing the library building for the day.

If you have any questions, please reach out to Thad, Jesse or me.

As of a few minutes ago, we didn’t have a closed sign on the Cafe door. I wonder if that might be a good idea?

Kathy, thank you. I have spoken with Diana and her team is getting signs up to let everyone know.

The Cafe will continue to be closed today through Monday December 6th. The Café operator and the library feel we can reopen with some space adjustments on Tuesday December 7th. Please share with our customers that is the planned opening day.

If you have any questions, please reach out to Thad, Jesse or me.

HUGE Thanks to everyone who helped out during the “event”. It was remarkable to see how quickly facilities, custodial, management, gallery and digital services reacted to help. I’m sure I’ve missed someone but please know Tricia and I appreciate all of your hard work.
Special thanks to Coop and Dennis for patching in the floor the last couple days to get us in a position to open to the public on Tuesday.
